End of Year Grief & Gratitude

2021 is ending.

For me, it's been a year of grief and gratitude.

On the personal side of things, in 2021:

  • I said goodbye to my 20s and stepped into a new decade.

  • I bought and settled into my first home and connected with amazing neighbors.

  • I mourned my first dog (RIP Waylon) and welcomed the sweetest puppy into my family (our precious Penny).

  • I left my job and started my own coaching business.

  • I welcomed phases of deep trust and navigated periods of devastating self-doubt and existential dread.

  • I did a bunch of puzzles, abstract paintings, and morning dance parties.

  • I celebrated friends' new homes, new jobs, and new babies.

  • I survived an extreme heat wave and snowboarded in fresh powder.

  • I invested heavily in my inner work through classes, groups, and mentors that have held me as I've learned to share and process more of my grief and my joy.

  • And so much more.

Business-wise, in the past year:

  • I provided 22 Enneagram Type Discovery Sessions.

  • I facilitated 9 Enneagram Panels (and "sold" 195 free tickets through Eventbrite).

  • I completed my Enneagram Teacher Certification (and got a fancy logo to put at the bottom of my website).

  • I held 30 Compassionate Witness Project Calls and was blown away by the clarity each person was able to access within themselves.

  • I collaborated with a friend and fellow Enneagram nerd and we started a podcast that's been listened to over 3600 times.

  • I launched my first group program and learned a ton from the experience.

  • I worked with 8 private clients - my exact goal number!

  • I delighted in a flexible schedule and had breakdowns over lack of structure and organization.

  • I spent times feeling financially stable and confident and times feeling severe panic around this whole endeavor.

  • And so much more.

I've experienced massive shifts in my identity and been confronted with deeper and deeper layers of my personality patterns what feels like a million times over. And I anticipate many more waves to come.

I'm so grateful to each of you - whether you worked with me, joined in for my events, listened to the podcast, checked in with me personally, subscribed to my newsletter, or are simply reading this after the fact now, your support means more than I can adequately verbalize.

I'm stepping into the new year feeling messy and hopeful, and with plans and ideas that I'm looking forward to sharing with you.

What are you feeling as you get ready to step into 2022? Email me to let me know. I truly love hearing from you.

With Love,
~Caryn
