To walk this path, it helps to have a dedicated space to explore, methods that safely untangle old patterns, and a skilled companion to walk alongside you.

Using your Enneagram type as a foundational map for your growth, I offer somatic facilitation, intuitive guidance, and an assortment of practices from my clinical and spiritual toolkit to activate your most aligned path to self-remembering.

In this intimate journey inside the container we create together based on an invitation to radical honesty and radical compassion, you’ll learn to connect directly to your own wellspring of wisdom.

There’s another way of being

You’re not new to inner work, so you know you are not who you’ve taken yourself to be.

You understand that you’ve been conditioned by a confluence of sociological and cultural factors that have helped you survive… but aren’t really YOU.

Plus, you’re familiar with the Enneagram, so you’ve likely uncovered some of your ego’s favorite thought loops, shame spirals, and go-to sources of existential dread.

The more closely you look, it seems that these ego patterns - mental, emotional, and behavioral reactions - play out in more subtle ways than your mind can grasp.

You’re psychologically “committed to growth,” but your Enneagram type’s patterns are wired deeply into your nervous system.

The world is filled with potentially overwhelming experiences and your nervous system is particularly attuned to any threats to your experience of autonomy, connectedness, and security.

In the face of complex interpersonal dynamics and unexpected life circumstances, you have mechanisms that push those highly charged experiences temporarily out of your awareness — so you can carry on with business-as-usual.

This automated system learned early on what "worked,” and it loves repeating the actions that will keep you alive and managing well enough without disrupting the status quo.

Your body is designed to automatically and unconsciously defend itself against what was overwhelming to you in the past by physically contracting against that perceived threat.

Without the conscious awareness you have now, your ego had decades to contract in the exact ways that were most important for you to survive the environment, relationships, and situations that you were exposed to early in your life — without alerting you to what it was doing.

By the time you found your Enneagram type, these patterns had become more rigid and restrictive.

When you began to paying attention to them, they likely seemed so familiar that you confused them for who you are.

But if you’re on this journey, you’ve started to recognize that you are so much more than your type.

As you wake up to this possibility, you can begin to practice noticing your patterns with more consciousness.

Through self-observation and practice, you get little tastes of what it’s like to have your essential nature shine through; how it feels when you see yourself and others see you for who you truly are.

And then, you bump into the unwritten rule: everything that could possible poke at your core wounds… does.

Your autopilot settings take over, causing you to brace against the life force energy that is designed to flow through you, ushering your unique gifts into the world for everyone’s benefit

That’s why, even with all of your hard-earned awareness, you keep encountering the same struggles.

The cycles of coping until you’re burnt out.

The repetitive issues in your relationships.

The difficulty of walking a spiritual path while being exceptionally human.

There is a way to shift from the exhaustion of outdated defensive patterns and learn to receive what it is you have been searching for.

For the last fourteen years, I’ve been steeped in professional trainings on active listening, strengths-based counseling, and way too many research papers on different therapeutic modalities (thanks, grad school).

Some of it was fascinating, some was dull, and very little of it truly helped me in my client sessions.

In fact, all that “learning” often put me so far in my head that the moment my mind couldn’t understand something, I would have the urge to denounce my capabilities and declare that I couldn’t possibly be of service to anyone.

I had no idea what “trust your gut” or “follow your heart” meant, and no one’s explanations were satisfactory.

It wasn’t until I encountered the Enneagram that I had a framework that made sense on every level.

I learned to honor what role my mind, heart, and body each had to play, and how they can work together to help me feel truly alive, compassionate, and open-minded about the paradoxes of life.

Most of this was by piecing together insights from traditional psychotherapies and allowing myself to open to the world of energy work and spiritual development, but I was wary of attaching to any particular method.

Until…

I met my teacher, Marion Gilbert.

She combined her knowledge of the body and energy systems from her 4+ decades of work as a physical therapist with her nuanced understanding of the Enneagram, and the way she worked with people was unlike anything I had seen before.

So, for the last three years, I have been learning her approach to The Somatic Enneagram.

This work combines scientifically validated trauma resolution principles with the spiritual wisdom teachings of the Enneagram to support recipients in developing consciousness by work skillfully with the nervous system.

It helps us identify and update the expression of our Enneagram type structure at the level of the body.

Through ongoing experiential learning, and through facilitating over 100 sessions with others, I have seen such remarkable shifts that I intend to continue this practice for the rest of my life.

I’ve witnessed people embody a felt sense of Essential States that they have never been to before — even in their very first session!

But true transformation takes time, practice, and a willingness to meet the obstacles that will appear along the way with a Beginner’s Mind.
